The city of Lille sets an interesting example for innovative and participatory approaches to housing and housing conservation, childcare and family services, and immigrant integration. Nantes developed new practices to tackle the huge social challenge of lonelyness among the elderly and explored new ways of delivering services to families in disadvantaged areas.
