The main ambition of the project is to analyse the role of social innovation and social entrepreneurship in the field of social housing in Norway. The main research questions are; can social innovation and social entrepreneurship be supplements to public policies with regard to social housing, and if so, how? What is the scope for social innovation in social housing in Norway, and which conditions must be in place in order to create good innovation processes? The project consists of three main parts: (1) a mapping of the issues, where we rely on national and international literature, (2) an innovation forum, where key actors (including municipalities, state actors, voluntary organisations and entrepreneurs) are invited to discuss the issues and exchange ideas, (3) a policy-analysis, based on part (1) and (2).

The project is funded by the Norwegian State Housing Bank. It started in April 2013, and will end in November 2013.
