Project coordinator
Taco Brandsen is the Coordinator for the project. He is Professor in Public Administration at Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. In addition, he is Vice President for Europe of the IRSPM (International Research Society on Public Management, IRSPM), Steering Committee member of the EGPA (European Group of Public Administration, EGPA), member of the research network EMES EMES and Director of the International Master Programme on the Coordination of Transition (IMPACT).
He received master’s degrees in Public Administration and in English Language & Literature from Leiden University and a PhD in Public Administration from Twente University, for which he won the Van Poelje Award for the best dissertation on public administration in The Netherlands. He has been involved in dozens of national and international research projects, including TSEP (Third Sector European Project, 5th European Framework Programme) and the Network of Excellence CINEFOGO (Civil Society and New Forms of Govermance, 6th European Framework Programme).
His research has focused on public service delivery and the issues that come with it: how new governance structures are emerging; how new types of services are being tested; how citizens are involved through co-production and self-organisation.
